How to make Smoked Sugar?

Let us know how to make smoked sugar on a Ninja woodfire grill with four simple steps.

Fill the Drip Pans

Fill the two small aluminum drip pans with ½ cups of sugar in each pan, and set them on both sides of the grill.

Fill the Smokebox

Now fill the woodfire grill smoke box with pellets and set it to the dehydrate function by pressing the woodfire flavor technology button. It will ignite the pellets to create smoke, set the time to 3 hours, and the temperature to 160 degrees Fahrenheit.

Allow the Sugar to smoke

Smoke the sugar for three hours and stir it after every 30 minutes to check that, each sugar granule gets kissed with smoke. Refill the smoke box with more pellets when you see the smoke start to fade.

Remove the Sugar

When it gets ready, remove the sugar from the grill. You can store or use it in your favorite recipes.

Recipe Tips

Placing the sugar in two separate pans is best instead of using one pan. The reason is that the Ninja Woodfire Grill has a convection fan at the top. When you place the sugar in one pan and the fan circulates, it turns some of the sugar out of the pan.
